Are you aware of proper habits and techniques to employ for brushing your child’s teeth? If you have not already done so, begin setting forth an effective oral hygiene routine that includes brushing your child’s teeth twice every day. As soon as the first tooth begins to appear, which commonly occurs before they are one year of age, you will need to begin caring for it.
If your child is currently displaying any signs of tooth eruption, they will need to be cared for as soon as they are visible. Make sure to brush your child’s teeth twice every day with a small amount of toothpaste. For children under the age of three, use an amount roughly the size of a grain of rice. For children between the ages of three and six, use an amount roughly the size of a pea. Be sure to teach your child how to properly care for their mouth so they can begin caring for it themselves around the age of six. Also, make sure to store their brush in a safe location to avoid contamination and the risk of someone else using it. Furthermore, bring your child in to visit their pediatric dentist for routine checkups.
